低表面能ABS及其纤维增强复合材料的研究的中期报告IntroductionABS(AcrylonitrileButadieneStyrene)isapopularthermoplasticpolymerusedinawiderangeofapplications,includingautomotiveparts,electronichousings,andtoys.However,itslowsurfaceenergyhindersadhesionandbondingwithothermaterials,whichlimitsitseffectivenessincertainapplications.OnesolutiontothischallengeistheadditionoffiberstoABStocreatereinforcedcompositematerials.ThisreportpresentstheresultsofongoingresearchonthedevelopmentoflowsurfaceenergyABSanditsfiber-reinforcedcomposites.LiteratureReviewSurfaceEnergySurfaceenergyistheamountofenergyittakestocreateaunitofsurfacearea.Inotherwords,itistheenergyrequiredtoseparatethemoleculesonamaterial'ssurface.Surfaceenergyisanimportantfactorinadhesionandbondingbetweenmaterials.Amaterialwithalowsurfaceenergyhasatendencytorepelothermaterials,makingitdifficulttobondorcoat.AcrylonitrileButadieneStyrene(ABS)ABSisapopularthermoplasticpolymercomposedofthreemonomers:acrylonitrile,butadiene,andstyrene.Ithasexcellentmechanicalandthermalproperties,makingitsuitableforawiderangeofapplications.However,itslowsurfaceenergymakesitdifficulttobondorcoatwithothermaterials.Fiber-ReinforcedCompositesFiber-reinforcedcompositesarematerialsmadeupofapolymermatrixreinforcedwithfibers.Thefibersprovideadditionalstrengthandstiffnesstothematerial,makingitsuitableforuseinapplicationsthatrequirehigh-performancematerials.Thechoiceoffibersandmatrixmaterialscanvarytotailorthepropertiesofthecompositeforspecificapplications.ResearchObjectivesTheobjectiveofthisresearchistodeveloplowsurfaceenergyABSanditsfiber-reinforcedcompositesforimprovedadhesionandbondingwithothermaterials.Thespecificobjectivesare:1.ToinvestigatetheeffectofsurfacetreatmentsonABSanditscomposites.2.Toanalyzethemechanicalandthermalpropertiesofthedevelopedmaterials.3.Toevaluatetheadhesionandbondingofthedevelopedmaterialswithothermaterials.MethodologyABSanditscompositeswerepreparedviameltmixingusingatwin-screwextruder.Thecompositeswerereinforcedwithshortcarbonfi
