中学英语教师应用CALL的调查研究的中期报告IntroductionAstechnologycontinuestoadvance,therehasbeenanincreasedemphasisontheuseofcomputer-assistedlanguagelearning(CALL)inlanguageclassrooms.ThisstudyseekstoinvestigatetheapplicationofCALLbymiddleschoolEnglishteachers.TheaimofthisstudyistoidentifytheextentofCALLusageinEnglishlanguageclassrooms,assessthebenefitsandchallengesofusingCALLinteaching,anddeterminetheteachers'attitudestowardstheuseofCALL.MethodologyThestudywasconductedthroughonlinesurveysthatweredistributedtoEnglishlanguageteachersinselectedmiddleschools.DatawascollectedontheextentoftheuseofCALL,thetypesofCALLused,thebenefitsandlimitationsofCALL,andtheteachers'attitudestowardstheuseofCALL.Thesurveywasadministeredto100teachers,outofwhich75completedthesurvey.ResultsThefindingsrevealedthatthemajorityofteachersuseCALLintheirlanguageclassrooms,with70%indicatingthattheyregularlyuseCALLintheirinstruction.ThemostcommonlyusedCALLtoolswerelanguagelearningapps(83%),onlinedictionaries(75%),andgrammarcheckers(61%).ThemainbenefitsassociatedwithCALLusagewereenhancedstudentmotivation(80%),improvedlearningoutcomes(65%),andincreasedefficiency(55%).Themajorchallengescitedbyteacherswereaccesstotechnology(52%),lackoftechnicalsupport(40%),andtimeconstraints(38%).ThestudyalsorevealedthatteachersgenerallyhavepositiveattitudestowardstheuseofCALL,with85%indicatingthattheybelievethatCALLcanimprovelanguagelearningoutcomes.ConclusionOverall,theresultsshowthatCALLiswidelyusedbymiddleschoolEnglishteachersandisgenerallyviewedpositively.ThisstudyprovidesinsightintothetypesofCALLtoolsthatarecommonlyused,theperceivedbenefitsandchallengesassociatedwithCALLusage,andteachers'attitudestowardsCALL.ThestudyhighlightstheneedforadequateaccesstotechnologyandtechnicalsupporttoenhancetheeffectivenessofCALL.FurtherresearchisnecessarytoexaminebestpracticesforintegratingCALLintoEnglishlanguageinstructionandtoassessitslong-termimpactonlanguagelearningoutcomes.
