FAQsRELATINGTOWORKRELATEDVISASISSUEDBYINDIAIntroductionInrecentweeks,severalquerieshavebeenraisedaboutthetypeofVisasissuedbyIndiatoforeignersforworkrelatedvisits.Itisclarifiedthatbasicallytherearetwo(2)typesofworkrelatedVisas,namely:-1.BusinessVisadesignatedas‘B’Visa2.EmploymentVisadesignatedas‘E’VisaFrequentlyaskedquestionswithregardtotheaboveissuesandrepliestheretoareoutlinedbelowforinformation,guidanceandcomplianceofallconcerned:-AQ1.WhatisaBusinessVisa?Ans.BusinessVisaisgrantedtoaforeignnationalwhowantstovisitIndiatoestablishanindustrial/businessventureortoexplorepossibilitiestosetupindustrial/businessventure,orwantstopurchase/sellindustrialproductsinIndia.ThisVisaisgrantedsubjecttofollowingconditions:-(i)Theapplicantisapersonofassuredfinancialstandingandexpertiseinthefieldoftheintendedbusiness.(ii)TheapplicantisnotvisitingIndiaforthebusinessofmoneylendingorpettytrading,orforafulltimeemploymentinIndiainvolvingpaymentofsalaryinIndiaetc.(iii)ThefacilityofBusinessVisawillalsobeextendedtoseniorexecutivesoffirms,experts,tourconductorsandtravelagents,etc.,visitingIndiainconnectionwithworkrelatedtoprojectsofnationalimportance,includingthoseundertakenbypublicsectorundertakings,andconductingbusinesstoursofforeignersorbusinessrelatingtoit,etc.(iv)Aforeignnationalwillhavetocomplywithallotherrequirementslikepaymentoftaxliabilitiesetc.(v)ThegrantofBusinessVisaissubjecttoanyinstructionsissuedbytheGovernmentofIndiaonthebasisofreciprocitywithotherforeigncountriesfromtimetotime.:-2-:(v)TheBusinessVisamustbeissuedfromthecountryoforigin,orfromthecountryofdomicileoftheforeignerprovidedtheperiodofpermanentresidenceofthatapplicantinthatparticularcountryisformorethan2years.Q.2.WhoareeligibleforaBusinessVisa?Ans.(i)ForeignnationalswhowanttovisitIndiatoestablishindustrial/businessventureortoexplorepossibilitiestosetupindustrial/businessventureinIndia.(ii)ForeignnationalscomingtoIndiatopurchase/sellindustrialproductsorcommercialpro
