To:JamesWong,PrincipalHumanresourcesOfficerFrom:JackLee,HumanResourcesOfficerDate:30April,2011Subject:Recommendationsforfuturetrainingcourseson“ImprovingBusinessEnglishWriting”1Introduction1.1PurposeInaccordancewithyourrequestof10April,Ihaveconductedasurveyamongstafftoinvestigatetheeffectivenessofthetrainingcourse.BackgroundLastyearourcompanyfoundthatthestaffhadproblemsincarryingouttheirworkbecauseoftheirpoorskillsinwritingbusinessEnglish.Wethereforeorganizedatrainingcourseon“ImprovingBusinessEnglishWriting”.ProcedureDataforthisreportwerecollectedbetween14Apriland23April.Iconductedthesurveybysendingoutquestionnairestothestaffwhoattendedthecourse.250staff(150seniorstaffand100juniorstaff)wererandomlyselectedtoanswerthepaper.Findings2.1Themostimportantfindingisthatmostseniorstaffaresatisfiedwiththeeffectivenessofteacherandusefulnessofcoursematerials,buttheproportionofjuniorstaffwhoaresatisfiedisrathersmall(lessthanonequarter)Thesurveyalsoshowsthatmorethanhalfofseniorandjuniorstaffaredissatisfiedwiththecurrentclasssize(50studentsperclass).Thefinalproblemisthatthemajorityofseniorstaffandtheminorityofjuniorstaffaresatisfiedwiththepaceofcourseandtherelevanceofcoursetojob.Theoverallusefulnessofcoursehaveverydifferentsatisfactionratesamongseniorandjuniorstaff(75%and30%),whichisaunwelcomeresult.Thesignificantdistanceshowsthatthecoursedidn’tliveuptotheexpectation.ConclusionThefindingsclearlyindicatethatmostofseniorstaffaresatisfiedwithoverallusefulnessofthecourse,especiallyontheaspectsofeffectivenessofteacher,usefulnessofcoursematerialsandrelevanceofcourseofcoursetojob.However,thesatisfactionrateofjuniorstaffisfarbehind.Besides,bothgroupsaredissatisfiedwiththeclasssize.Itcanbeconcludedthattoimprovetheeffectivenessofcourse,ourcompanyshouldreformtheagendaoftheclass:maketheclasssmallerandindependent,selecttheteachersandcoursematerialsstrictly,etc.Recommendations4.1Sincejuniorstaffshowtheirdifferencesfromseniorstaff,weshouldprovidetwokindsofclassesf
