中国学生英语多义词心理词汇研究:词汇概念与认知模型理论视角的开题报告IntroductionWithChina'sincreasingopennesstotheinternationalcommunity,Englishhasbecomeanessentialtoolforstudentstocommunicatewiththeworldandtopursuehighereducation.However,manyChinesestudentsstrugglewiththecomplexnatureoftheEnglishlanguage,whichincludesalargenumberofhomonymsandpolysemouswords.Thesestudentsmayfinditchallengingtocomprehendthemultiplemeaningsofaword,leadingtoconfusionandmisunderstandingincommunication.ThisresearchprojectproposestoinvestigatetheEnglishmentallexiconamongChinesestudentsstudyingEnglishasasecondlanguagewithaspecificfocusonthepolysemousandhomonymouswordsrelatedtopsychologyterms.Weaimtoexploretheconceptualrepresentationsandcognitiveprocessesinvolvedinunderstandingthesewords.Thestudywilluseatheoreticalframeworkbasedonthecognitivelinguisticsmodel,whichpositsthatourunderstandingofmeaningsisbasedonconceptualstructures,ratherthanalistofrules.Accordingtothismodel,wordsareunderstoodbasedontheirrelationshipwithotherwordsinthelanguageandourexperiences,bothconcreteandabstract,oftheworldaroundus.MethodologyTheresearchwillusebothqualitativeandquantitativemethods.WewillconductasurveyamoungundergraduateuniversitystudentsfromChina'stop-tieruniversities.Thesurveywillbeaself-administeredquestionnaireconsistingoftwoparts.Thefirstpartwillcontainthedemographicdetailsoftheparticipants,includingtheirbackgroundandexperiencewithEnglishlanguageeducation.Thesecondpartwillcontainalistoftwenty-fiveEnglishwordschosenfromasetofpsychologydictionaries.Theparticipantswillbeaskedtoratetheirfamiliarity,frequencyofusageandtheirunderstandingofeachwordonaLikertScalerangingfrom(1)'notfamiliar/on'eto(5)'veryfamiliar/allthetime'.Participantswhoscorehighonthefamiliarityquestionnairewillbeinvitedtotakepartinasemi-structuredinterview.Theinterviewwillincludeopen-endedquestions,wheretheparticipantswillbeaskedtodescribetheirunderstandingofthewords.Theresponseswillbeaudio-recordedandtranscribedforanalysis.ExpectedOutcomesWeexpectthattheresultswillp
