英语专业学生作文中问题-解决模式研究的中期报告AbstractThepurposeofthisresearchistoinvestigatetheproblem-solvingprocessinEnglishmajors'essaywriting.Inparticular,thisstudyfocusesontheproblem-solvingpatternsthatEnglishmajorsutilizewhenwritingessays.Aliteraturereviewwasconductedtoanalyzepreviousstudiesonproblem-solvingandwriting,andtoexploretherelationshipbetweenproblem-solvingandessaywriting.AqualitativeresearchmethodwasemployedtocollectdatafromEnglishmajors'essaysandtoclassifyproblem-solvingpatterns.TheresultsshowthatEnglishmajorsutilizedifferentproblem-solvingpatternswhenwritingessays,includinganalyticalthinkingandcreativethinking.Furtherresearchisneededtoexploretheeffectivenessoftheseproblem-solvingpatternsinpromotingeffectiveessaywriting.IntroductionAsEnglishmajors,writingessaysisacriticalpartofouracademiclife.Towriteaneffectiveessay,itisnotenoughtosimplyputwordstogether.Instead,writersmustbeabletoanalyzethetopic,determinethepurposeoftheessay,andchooseappropriateevidenceandarguments.Intheprocessofwriting,writersoftenencounterchallenges,suchasdifficultyinunderstandingthequestionorfindingrelevantinformation.Toovercomethesechallenges,writersneedproblem-solvingskills.However,littleresearchhasbeenconductedtoinvestigatetheproblem-solvingprocessinEnglishmajors'essaywriting.Thispaperaimstoexploretheproblem-solvingpatternsthatEnglishmajorsutilizewhenwritingessays.LiteratureReviewProblem-solvingisacriticalcomponentofmanytasks,includingwriting.Previousresearchhasexploreddifferentproblem-solvingstrategies,includinganalyticalthinkingandcreativethinking.Analyticalthinkinginvolvesbreakingaproblemdownintosmallercomponentsandanalyzingeachcomponenttofindasolution.Creativethinking,ontheotherhand,involvesgeneratingnewideasorapproachestosolveaproblem.Bothanalyticalandcreativethinkingcanbeusefulinessaywriting.Writingisacomplexprocessthatinvolvesproblem-solvingatdifferentstages.Atthepre-writingstage,writersmustanalyzethetopic,determinethepurposeoftheessay,andbrainstormideas.Duringthewritingstage,writers
