Copyright©2009ICCESICCES,vol.10,no.1,pp.27-27AeroelasticityanalysisofwindturbinebladesbasedonCFD-CSDcouplingWeiLiu1,YiweiWang1,YiranAn1,XianyueSu1,2SummaryUnderstandingtheaeroelasticbehaviorofthebladeiscrucialtothedesignoflargewindturbines,whichhasbeenattractingmoreandmoreresearchefforts.Essentially,theaeroelasticityproblemofwindturbinebladesisafluid-solidinter-actionproblemwithobviousinterface.Atthepresenttime,intheaeroelasticityanalysisofwindturbine,CFDsoftwarebasedontheincompressibleReynolds-averagedNavier-Stokes(RANS)equationsarenotyetroutinelyused,inpartbe-causeofthelackofexperiencewithregardtotheapplicationofthesesoftwaretovariouswindturbinerotorsforawiderangeofconditionsandthecomplexityoftherotorflowproblem.ACFDandCSDcouplingprocedurefortheaeroelasticityanalysisoflargewindturbinebladesispresentedinthispaper.FirstlyaerodynamicsanalysisisperformedusingCFDmethodstopredictaerodynamicloadsontheblade.Thenwiththehelpofacodedevelopedhere,theloadinformationobtainedfromthepreviousaerodynamicanalysisisfedintothesoliddomaintoperformCSDanalysisoftheblade.Tovalidatetheprocedure,theNRELPhaseVIrotorwithS809airfoilisselectedasanexample,andthecouplinganalysishasbeenperformedatfreestreamvelocitiesfrom7m/sto25m/s.Itisfoundthatthenumericalresultsobtainedinthispaperareinreasonableagreementwithwindtunnelmeasurements.AcknowledgementTheprojectsupportedbytheNationalBasicResearchProgramofChinaundergrantNo.2007CB714603.1StateKeyLaboratoryforTurbulenceandComplexSystems,DepartmentofMechanicsandAerospaceEngineering,CollegeofEngineering,PekingUniversity,Beijing100871,China2Correspondingauthor.E-mail:xysu@mech.pku.edu.cn
