BEC高级阅读:美国人越发觉得上大学意义不大来源:BEC之家【考试大——我选择,我喜欢】2010年8月5日Asthepriceofhighereducationcontinuestorisethroughashakyeconomicrecovery,fewerAmericansareconsideringcollegeagoodinvestment,especiallycomparedtootherneedsforsavings.Inasurveyof3,000people,63.5%saidacollegeeducationisstillagoodfinancialinvestmentforyoungadultsgivenrisingcosts,comparedto79.1%lastyearand80.9%in2008.Thedecliningsentimentisreflectedacrossallagegroups-63.5%ofthoseaged18-29saidcollegeisagoodinvestment,comparedto76.7%lastyear.Just61.5%ofthoseover65yearsoldsaiditisagoodinvestment-82.1%saidthesamein2009.AseparatestudyreleasedlastmonthbyPayscale,anonlinesalaryandcompensationinformationcompany,ranked852institutionsacrossthecountrybythecolleges'returnsoninvestmentover30years.TheJulyprioritiessurvey,releasedTuesdaybyfinancialservicesgroupCOUNTRYFinancial,showsashiftinsavingprioritiesthroughanuncertaineconomy.MostAmericans-42.8%-saidthisyearthatsavingfortheirownretirementwasmoreimportantthansavingfortheirchild'scollegeeducation,indicatinganincreasefromlastyear's40.7%.Consequently,theproportionofthosewhoprioritizedsavingfortheirchild'seducationdecreased-to40.7%thisyearfrom47%lastyear.Thisyear,16.5%saidtheywerenotsure,markingthegreatestuncertaintyoverthelastfouryears.'It'sunderstandablewhyAmericansarequestioninghowtoprioritizecollegeeducationandretirementfunding,particularlywiththeskyrocketingcostsinbothareas.Butwithgraduateslikelytoearn$1millionmoreintheirlifetimethannon-grads,collegeremainsanimportantinvestmentinafamily'sfuturedespitetherisingpricetag,'saidKeithBrannan,vicepresidentofFinancialSecurityPlanningforCOUNTRYFinancial.'Thegoodnews,however,isthatpeopleareputtingtheirretirementsavingsfirst.Youcanalwaysborrowtopayforcollege,butyoucan'tborrowforretirement.Withtheproperplanning,Americanscanachievetheirfinancialgoalsforboth.'Thisyear'sproportionofthosewhoprioritizeretirementsavings,however,isinlinewiththe43%surveyedin2007.Therewasleastuncertaintyin2008,and47.1%prioritizedsavingfortheirownretirement,thegreat
