AtmosphericdepositionofChemicalsChinaMarineEnvironmentalQualityCommunique-2008(i)EstimatetheimportanceofatmosphericdepositionofthesepollutantstothenorthYellowSeasurfacewaters;(ii)Quantifycurrentconcentrationsanddepositionfluxesofthepollutants;(iii)Assesstheirspatialandseasonaltrends.NutrientsHeavymetalsPolycyclicaromatichydrocarbons(PAHs)Locationofthreestations老虎滩(38º51´N,121º41´E),Laohutan,islocatedatthemarineenvironmentalmonitorstationofDalian,whereisanimportantmonitorstationofthenorthYellowSea.小麦岛(36º03´N,120º25´E),XiaomaiIsland,islocatedatthemarineenvironmentalmonitorstationofQingdao,whereisanotherimportantmonitorstationoftheYellowSea.獐子岛(39º01´N,122º43´E),ZhangziIsland,isfarawayfromthecity.Thestationisconsideredasabackgroundobservationstation.Airsamples(24hours)werecollectedusingmodifiedhighvolumeairsamplers.Quartzfiberfilters(QFFs)wereusedtocaptureparticlesandpolyurethanefoamplugs(PUFs)wereusedtoconcentratethegasphasepollutants.Wet-onlyintegratingprecipitationsamplerswereemployedtocollectintegratedprecipitationsamplesinastainlesssteelfunnel.Itcanautomaticallycollecttherainsampleswhenitisraining.ThisstudywascommencedfromOctober2008.ThedatapresentedhereweretheresultsfromOctober2008toSeptember2009.SamplesofTSPwerecollectedeverytwoweeks,andsamplesforPAHsarecollectedoncepermonth.Precipitationsampleswerecollectedonlywhenitisraining.Meanandstandarddeviation(SD)ofnitrate,ammoniumsalt,phosphateandnitriteinparticlesamplescollectedfromthethreesites(μg/m3)Obvioustrendswerenotobservedatallthreesites.Theresultsmaybeduetothecomplexityofthesources.ad/w:theratiosofdrydepositionfluxestowetdepositionfluxesHeavymetalsAnnualprecipitationanddryparticledepositionfluxes(mg/(m2y))oftracemetalsfromotheratmosphericdepositionstudiesRelativecontributionsofprecipitationanddryparticledepositiontothetotaldepositionfluxesofmetalsComparedtootherregions,PAHsdepositionfluxesofthenorthYellowSeawerehigherslightly.Forexample,inNewJersey,annualaveragePAHtotaldepositionfluxesrangedfrom1479
