THESTANDARDSOFSHIPBUILDINGQUALITYCONSTRUCTIONACCURACYQ/SWS60-001.2-2001Notes:Thisstandardincludestheitemsofinspections/testsforhullconstruction,outfitting,machineryandelectricalinstallationandpainting.Thestandardappliesmainlytotheconventionalsea-goingsteelshipsof3000tonedeadweightandabovedrivebydieselengine.Thisstandardalsobeusedasareferenceforshipsunder3000tonedeadweight.1HULLCONSTRUCTON1.1SteelMaterialsSurfacedefectsofsteelplatesshallbekeptwithinthelimitsasdefinedintable1-1Table1-1ItemsRequirementsPits,flaking,scars,scratchesandairbubbles1)ZoneAisinexcellentorder,withveryslightsurfacedefectslessthan0.15mm,andnorepairingisneeded.2)ZoneBisingoodorder,withacertainamountofpermissiblesurfacedefects,andnorepairingisneeded.Areaenclosedbyfulllinesdenotesplatewiththicknesslessthan20mm,andareaenclosedbydottedline(includingstraightline)denotesplateswiththicknessfrom20to50mm.3)ZoneCisindisorder,andrepairingisneeded,i.e.therearecertainamountsofimpermissiblesurfacedefectsthatshallberepairedaccordingtotherequirement.4)Repairingmethodforsurfacedefects:ford<0.07t,bygrinding(butinnocased≤3mm),for0.07t≤d≤0.2t,bybuilt-upweldingfollowedbygrindingwheredisdefectdepth,mmtisplatethickness,mmIncasethedefectdepthexceeds20%platethicknessanddefectareaexceeds2%platearea,thispartofplateistobereplacedasrequired.1.1.2Thenegativethicknesstoleranceofhullstructuralsteelplateshallbekeptnottoexceed0.3mm.1.1.3Laminationofsteelplateistobetreatedaccordingtotable1-2.Table1-2ItemsRequirementLocallamination1)Incasetherangeoflaminationisfairlysmallitcanbechippedoutandbuilt-upbyweldingasshowninFig(a).Incasetherangeoflaminationisfairlysmallandneartheplatesurfaceitispreferabletodothebuilt-upweldingafterchippingoutasshowninfig(b).2)Incasethelaminationissevereanddefective,itmustbecarefullyexaminedandrepairedbyappropriatemethod.3)Incasethebuilt-upweldinglengthexceeds20%theedgelengthofthesteelplate,non-destructiveinspectionistobedonetocheckthequality.Severe
