高中英语教学中的文化教学状况调查:以新课标为标准的开题报告IntroductionCulturehasbecomeanimportantaspectoflanguageteachinginrecentyears.Itiswidelyacknowledgedthatlanguageandcultureareinterdependent,andthatteachingbothaspectsiscrucialforlanguageacquisition.InChina,withtheimplementationoftheNewStandardCurriculum(NSC),cultureteachinghasbecomeapartofthehighschoolEnglishcurriculum.However,itisunclearhowwellcultureteachingisbeingimplementedinhighschoolsacrossChina.Therefore,thepurposeofthisstudyistoinvestigatethecurrentstateofcultureteachinginhighschoolEnglishclassroomsinChina.ResearchQuestionsThestudyaimstoanswerthefollowingresearchquestions:1.WhatisthecurrentstateofcultureteachinginhighschoolEnglishclassroomsinChina?2.WhatarethemajorchallengesfacedbyhighschoolEnglishteacherswhenteachingcultureintheclassroom?3.WhatsuggestionscanbemadetoimprovecultureteachinginhighschoolEnglishclassroomsinChina?LiteratureReviewCultureteachinghasgainedincreasingattentioninforeignlanguageeducationinrecentdecades.AccordingtoByram(1997),culturalteachingshouldbeanintegralpartoflanguageteaching,asthetwocannotbeseparated.Cultureteachingallowsstudentstounderstandtheculturalbackgroundofalanguageandenablesthemtocommunicatemoreeffectivelyinaglobalizedworld.InChina,theMinistryofEducationhasalsohighlightedtheimportanceofcultureteachingintheNSC,withaspecificfocusonEnglishlanguagelearning.However,implementingcultureteachingintheclassroomisnotalwayseasy.Li(2011)arguesthatthechallengesfacedbyhighschoolEnglishteachersinChinaincludealackoftraining,insufficientresourcesandmaterials,andafocusonteachingexam-orientedcontent.Thesechallengescanmakeitdifficultforteacherstoincorporatecultureteachingintotheirdailylessonseffectively.MethodologyThestudywillemployamixed-methodsapproachbyconductingbothquantitativesurveysandqualitativeinterviews.AquestionnairewillbedistributedtohighschoolEnglishteachersacrossChinatogatherdataonthecurrentstateofcultureteachingintheirclassrooms.Thequestionnairewillassessthefrequencyanddepthofculturalcontent
