初中学优生与学困生英语学习观念的对比分析研究的中期报告IntroductionTheaimofthisresearchistocompareandanalyzetheEnglishlearningattitudesofacademicallysuccessfulandacademicallychallengedstudentsinmiddleschool.Thismid-termreportsummarisesthemethodologyusedtocollectdata,andinitialfindingsoftheresearch.MethodologyThestudywasconductedinamiddleschoolinChina.Asampleof50studentswasselected,including25academicallysuccessfulstudentswithanaveragescoreof90oraboveinEnglishand25academicallychallengedstudentswithanaveragescoreofbelow60inEnglish.Datawascollectedthroughasurveyquestionnaireconsistingofbothopen-endedandclosed-endedquestions.ThequestionnairewasgiventothestudentsduringtheirEnglishclassandtheyweregiven30minutestocompleteit.ResultsPreliminaryfindingsfromthesurveysuggestseveraldifferencesbetweentheEnglishlearningattitudesofacademicallysuccessfulandacademicallychallengedstudents.Firstly,academicallysuccessfulstudentstendtohaveagreaterinterestinlearningEnglish,with92%ofthemexpressingaloveforlearningEnglish.Ontheotherhand,only48%oftheacademicallychallengedstudentsexpressedthesamelevelofinterestinlearningEnglish.Secondly,academicallysuccessfulstudentshaveagreaterself-efficacyintheirEnglishlearning,with80%ofthembelievingthattheycanimprovetheirEnglishproficiencythroughhardwork,comparedtoonly32%ofacademicallychallengedstudents.Thirdly,academicallysuccessfulstudentsaremorelikelytohaveapositiveattitudetowardstheirEnglishteacher,with76%ofthemviewingtheirteacheraskindandhelpful,whileonly32%oftheacademicallychallengedstudentsfeelthesameway.DiscussionThefindingssuggestthatacademicallysuccessfulandacademicallychallengedstudentshavedifferentattitudestowardslearningEnglish.ThesedifferencesmaybeexplainedbyfactorssuchaspriorsuccessinEnglishlearning,self-efficacy,interestinEnglish,andteacher-studentrelationships.Furtheranalysisandinterpretationofthedatawillbecarriedoutinthenextstageoftheresearch.ConclusionThismid-termreportsummarizedtheresearchmethodologyusedandpreliminaryfindingsofthestudy.Theresultssuggestth
