中国英语专业大学生英语学习过程中的句法迁移现象研究的中期报告Introduction:SentencesyntaxtransferisacommonphenomenonamongChineseEnglishmajorswhenlearningEnglish.Theaimofthisstudyistoexplorethereasonsbehindthisphenomenonandfindpossiblewaystoimprovethestudents'Englishlanguagelearningprocess.Thisreportwillpresentthemid-termfindingsofthestudy.LiteratureReview:Accordingtoexistingliterature,thereasonsbehindsentencesyntaxtransferincludetheuseofL1(Chinese)sentencestructureinL2(English)sentenceconstructionbecauseofthelackofunderstandingofEnglishsentencesyntax,theinfluenceofChinesegrammarandsyntaxrules,andthedirecttranslationofChinesesentencesintoEnglish.ThesereasonscausethestudentstostrugglewhenproducingandcomprehendingEnglishsentencesandresultinpoorEnglishlanguageproficiency.Methods:Thestudyusedamixed-methodapproach,whichinvolvedcollectingqualitativeandquantitativedatafrom50ChineseEnglishmajors.Thedatawerecollectedthroughasentencecompletiontask,aquestionnaire,andinterviews.Thesentencecompletiontaskrequiredtheparticipantstocomplete10Englishsentenceswiththecorrectsyntaxaccordingtotheinstructionsprovided.Thequestionnaireassessedtheparticipants'self-ratedEnglishlanguageproficiency,timespentonEnglishlanguagelearning,andlearningstrategiesused.Theinterviewsaimedtogaindeeperinsightsintothestudents'Englishlanguagelearningprocessandthefactorsthatinfluencetheirsentenceconstructionandcomprehension.Results:ThepreliminaryanalysisofthedatashowedthattheparticipantscommonlymadesyntacticalerrorsintheirsentenceconstructionduetotheinfluenceofChinesesentencesyntaxrulesandthelackofunderstandingofEnglishlanguagesyntaxrules.Additionally,theparticipantsusedtranslationastheirprimarylearningstrategy,whichresultedindirecttranslationerrors.Theparticipants'self-ratedEnglishlanguageproficiencywasfoundtobelowerthanexpected,andtheyspentlesstimeonEnglishlanguagelearningthantheyexpected.Conclusion:TheresultsindicateaneedformoresignificanteffortstoaddresssentencesyntaxtransferinEnglishlanguagelearningamongChineseEnglishmajors.Thef
